Week 5: The need and business case for atmospheric Carbon Dioxide Removal

YouTube FacebookChristoph Beuttler, ClimeWorks will outline the need for atmospheric carbon dioxide removal in view of the goals of the Paris Agreement. He will discuss the role of direct air capture, its scalability, policy needs and challenges as well as business cases. The technology developed by Climeworks captures carbon dioxide directly from the air using machines that are powered solely by renewable energy or energy-from-waste, resulting in grey emissions of below 10%.
